EPA announced amendments to Guidelines for the Environmental Agent Provided Exclusively for Experimental Research, Educational Demonstration, Special Control Projects or License Application

On October 16 of 2018, Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) announced amendments to Article 3 and 5 of “Guidelines for the Environmental Agent Provided Exclusively for Experimental Research, Educational Demonstration, Special Control Projects or License Application.” The amendments are made to establish a legal accordance for the governance of the promotions and practice of Wolbachia Pipientis introduced by international research institute to control dengue disease and vectors in the future. Such relaxation of qualifications is expected to encourage the domestic research and development of environmental agents.

EPA expressed that the amendments aim to include public/ private research institute and administration agencies on the list of applying for experimental research or educational demonstration; amend the application form; and include items and application methods as the prerequisite information, to provide a simple and convenient service.
