Green chemistry is an important part of the sustainability issue, and its momentum is overwhelming. The Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Education are co-organizing the "4th Green Chemistry Innovation Competition for Colleges and Universities", which allows college and university students to take advantage of this global trend, explore the possibilities of green chemistry through brainstorming and creativity, challenge themselves, and work together to create a sustainable and safe future! Registration for the event starts now and ends at 12:00 noon on October 25, 2024 (Friday). A briefing session will be held starting from July 29. Chemistry experts from universities and colleges are welcome to take part in the competition!
The theme of this competition is "12 Principles of Green Chemistry" and "Green Chemistry Education (including teaching materials design, promotion, etc.)", and the competition is divided into two categories: colleges and universities, and the research. Each team is limited to three members (cross-school teams are allowed), with at least one instructor. This year's competition will award one gold medal, one silver medal, two bronze medals, and a number of honorable mention awards in each category, and the winning teams shall be presented with trophies, certificates, and gift certificates for merchandise as well as public recognition, with a total award amount of NT$280,000!
In addition to the concrete trophies, certificates and gift certificates for merchandise, the Chemicals Administration of the Ministry of Environment also reminds that in the past, there was an award-winning student from the category of colleges and universities who applied for recommendation and screening-based admission to the graduate school with the outstanding performance of the project experiments and participation in this competition, and in the result, after preliminary examination by the Graduate Institute of Chemistry of National Taiwan University, the student was admitted without an interview because of the excellent achievements! Therefore, if you devote yourself to a project for a long period of time, and demonstrate your enthusiasm, achievements, and professionalism by winning awards in professional competitions or publishing academic papers, it can also be a pathway to higher education.
