With the goal of sustainable chemistry, the Ministry of the Environment has organized the "4th Green Chemistry Application and Innovation Awards" to encourage the research and development of non-toxic and low-toxicity alternatives, the implementation of hazard prevention and management, the enhancement of emergency response capabilities, and the promotion of green chemistry education. All sectors of the community are invited to share their achievements and innovations in the application of green chemistry to jointly create a more sustainable and safer life. Inquiries and registration can be made on the event's official website () from now until 6:00 p.m. (included), September 13, 2024.
"The 4th Green Chemistry Application and Innovation Awards" are divided into group and individual categories. Group categories include "Green Chemistry Education", "Green Safety Alternatives", "Chemical Substance Management", "Disaster Prevention and Relief", and "Others", and awardees shall be publicly recognized and presented with trophies. For the individual categories, in addition to the five categories mentioned above, there is also a "Lifetime Achievement" category to encourage nationals who have made long-term efforts in the field of green chemistry. Each winner of the individual categories shall be publicly recognized and awarded a prize of NT$50,000!
Winning the award is not only a sign of honor, but also a channel to share with the public the mission of creating a more sustainable and safer life through green chemistry, as well as the obstacles encountered in the process, the determination and courage to overcome the obstacles, and the achievements and innovations in the application of green chemistry. The stories of these awardees constitute important examples of green chemistry practices. In order to expand the impact of the Award, the stories of the awardees will be compiled into the "Award Records" for public circulation and learning. In addition, to enhance the value of the Award and to enable the awardees to gain more cooperation opportunities through green practices, on-site observation activities will be organized for the awardees to share their successful experiences.
The "4th Green Chemistry Application and Innovation Awards" is a platform for all sectors to exchange ideas on green chemistry applications and innovations.
