Environmental Protection Administration Announces Revised Application Requirements for Environmental Agent Permits

  • Department:Chief Secretary Office

The Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) recently announced the amended Working Standards for Environmental Agent Permit Application and Issuance. The primary changes include practical management, with an emphasis on relevant review processes; adjusting the framework and process of related laws through application, review, and license issuance (e.g., whether a license is issued, no license is required, or the license is denied); extending the expiration dates of products made using environmental health agent precursors; and incorporating the guidelines for managing chemical repellents (mosquito repellents) for human use.

The EPA stated that these changes will incorporate management of chemical repellents for human use. For applicants manufacturing natural pest repellents, rat repellents, or natural products that lure but do not kill pests, the applicant should submit related documents and data to the central competent authority for review. A permit will be issued to the applicant once his/her application has been approved. Because most technical grade environmental health agents have high concentrations, high stability, and can only be used by environmental agent manufacturers, their expiration dates have been revised to 5 years.
