The Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan held the 2nd “Green Chemistry Application and Innovation Awards,” in order to encourage everyone to continue to head towards green chemical and low-pollution production; develop innovative low-toxic alternatives, reduce the application of toxic chemical, implement hazard prevention and response plan, strengthen emergency disaster response capabilities, and promote green chemistry education. The registration is open from April 27 to August 14, 2020. All are welcome to participate, competing for the glory of green chemistry.
These Awards are conducted in accordance with Article 72 of "Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Control Act" and "Regulations Governing Rewards for Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Operations," and they are held once every 2 years since 2018. This time, fifteen group and ten individual winners will be selected to commend their achievements. There are five categories for the group competition, including green chemistry education, green safety alternatives, chemical substance management, disaster prevention, rescue and preparedness, and others. For the individual competition, in addition to the above categories, the category of lifetime achievement is added to encourage individuals who have lifetime commitment in the field of green chemistry.
The Toxic and Chemical Substances Bureau, Environmental Protection Administration states that, participants can register based on their achievements, competing for domestic honorary awards for the promotion of green chemistry. The winners will be awarded by public commendations with trophies, and the winners of the individual competition will also receive prizes of NT$ 50,000 per person or other prizes of the equivalent value as reward. Through the "Records of Outstanding Performance," the image of the winning enterprises can be enhanced and the winning individuals can be recognized.
