In order to support the electronic application process for the establishment of Environmental Agent Professional Technicians , the Environmental Protection Administration revised the " Regulations Governing the Employment of Environmental Agent Professional Technicians " (hereinafter referred to as "these regulations") on March 3, 2023. In addition to adding the online transmission in the future for applying for professional technicians for environmental agent, this regulation is consistent with the management of environmental specialists and professional technical managers. It also refers to the regulations for the “establishment and management of specialized units or personnel for the treatment of waste (polluted) water”. The key revisions to this regulation include these: strengthening the proxy system for specialized personnel, modifying the proxy qualifications to require training equivalent to that of the same category of professional technicians; specifying prohibited behaviors and the management responsibilities of businesses; clarifying rights and responsibilities, and imposing penalties for violations related to training, job execution, management of leave records, and the application of regulations for the management of environmental agent technicians. These revisions aim to improve the management of professional technical personnel.
